The Joy of Changing it Up
I often find myself spending a morning, moving pictures from one wall to another, heaving my sofa to the other side of the room, rearranging objects or creating a new flower display with either freshly picked ones or using a few of my super-realistic artificial ones but more often than not combining the two.
For me it's a joy to change up the look with a few quick adjustments without all the upheaval of actually redecorating or God forbid, moving!
I want to take continual delight in my home and not become blinded by over-familiarity and so periodically I move, store and resurrect my stuff. This might mean taking down a few pictures or ornaments - whatever I feel is not currently cutting it for me. I put them away so that when I bring them back out, my home and heart sing at the sight of them. Sometimes they're brought back out because the season has changed or because I've become bored with a particular look and they're needed again. We all do this with Christmas decorations and out of season clothes but this is such a great hack to inject life back into your home.
Reinvent and reinvigorate. Changing things up is the way forward. That does not mean hoarding. Only keep what you love. Sometimes it's the very smallest addition or subtraction that makes the difference.
For me, change is how to fall in love again.
